Akron Children’s Hospital is a free standing tertiary care children’s hospital with 253 beds, a Level 1 trauma center and Level 3 NICU, we are affiliated with Northeast Ohio Medical University. Since embarking on the ImPACTS adventure in 2016, we’ve worked to forge new relationships with community hospitals and take some of the fear out of pediatric emergencies for our colleagues in general emergency departments. Looking ahead, we hope to more efficiently identify community partners to provide this program on a more consistent basis.
